Sales and the 'Talent Magnet'

A lot is written about being a ‘Talent Magnet’, either as a company, or as President. It’s all good practice – listen, mentor, reward, provide clear goals and career maps. Good practice for the employer, but what about the employee?

This is an excellent article on the post Great Recession challenges. Dr Tesvich covers all the important bases and makes some great points along the way. I like the emphasis on re-energizing the management base, making sure that everyone knows the vision for the future, and especially making sure that eveyone knows how they fit into this vision. The piece about how talent management systems can be in conflict with the stated and desired culture is especially relevant. My favorite line, which I will borrow in future, is: "fear is not a long term motivator". Amen!

Great clarification of an important topic. Many of my clients are worried about engagement. This article provides a clear road map for leaders to follow. As the economy turns around, engagement will be even more critical!
