At Motion Infusion, we’ve discovered a simpler and far more effective way to bring wellness into the workplace. We focus on one thing: bringing movement into the workplace. Why? Research shows that incorporating movement into the daily rhythm of a corporate environment is one of the best ways to create a healthier, happier, and even smarter workforce. And that’s good news for a company’s bottom line.
“Our team came out of the workshop smiling and practicing their stretches together – it was a great team engagement event.”

Plain and simple, staying active is everything. In fact, recent studies now show that the benefits of getting active outweigh the benefits of quitting smoking when it comes to longevity. Some researchers are going so far as to say that physical inactivity is the new smoking!
Motion Infusion works with your employees to naturally integrate movement into their daily routines, helping them to become active throughout their workday. Why does this matter? Because in today's world we sit too much. Think about it: moving sidewalks, escalators, elevators, cars, remotes - they're everywhere! All of this increased mechanization is slowing us down, and it's not good.
More than ever, we need to reintroduce movement into these daily routines - especially during our workday. Motion Infusion is helping people - and companies - to do exactly this. All it takes is a willingness to learn and an eagerness to get up and move.
Here's how we do it.
We focus on strengths. At Motion Infusion, we believe that in an effort to get people to change, too much energy has been spent on telling people what they're doing wrong - and not enough on what they're doing right. Making a change requires motivation - and we believe that people are more motivated to change when they begin with their strengths. So, we help employees to first identify their strengths and then build from this place of power to reframe and address their wellness challenges.
Health and wellness largely comes down to the choices that we make. If all of us chose to eat well, exercise and refrain from smoking, we could collectively prevent 80% of heart disease, 80% of diabetes and 40% of cancers.[1] We could prevent the majority of chronic diseases simply by making better choices. Sounds easy - but it's not. The million-dollar question in the wellness field is how to get people to change in a meaningful and sustainable way. Fortunately, we've got the answer to that million-dollar question.
We keep employees engaged. The prevailing method in health and wellness for catalyzing change is the use of carrots and sticks. In other words, reward good behaviors with prizes, discounts or outright cash - and punish bad behaviors by withholding these rewards and in some cases, firing employees for making unhealthy choices. This approach is based on the behaviorist theory, or the belief that people - just like dogs - respond to rewards and punishments.
The problem with rewards and punishments, or extrinsic motivators, is that they tend to promote temporary obedience - rather than long-term engagement. Instead, the real key to sustainable, long-lasting change is unleashing intrinsic motivators and just plain making it fun! Our wellness programs do just that by focusing on creating enjoyment, engagement and personal meaning.
We help them find a friend. The traditional health-coaching model is costly and doesn't always work, especially when it's not face-to-face. It turns out that peer pressure and support is what really matters - more so than the voice of an "expert."
Researchers have identified a so-called "social contagion effect," whereby behaviors have a way of weaving their way through social networks, creating a ripple effect. This means that if our friends, our friends' friends and even our friends' friends' friends are healthy - we're much more likely to be healthy. Conversely, if they're unhealthy, then we're much more likely to be unhealthy.
Our Peer Coaching Program leverages this natural occurrence by partnering co-workers together to keep them motivated and moving as a team toward their wellness goals. With this program, we're helping companies to create social networks of healthy, happy behaviors.
"The simple movement techniques really work. Not only am I more productive, but I feel much better and am not so fatigued. Thanks, Motion Infusion!"

How do we do it?
We infuse motion into companies in three simple steps.
Step 1: Presentations - This is the starting point. Through lively seminars, employees learn why movement is so important. With easy-to-use tips as well as before-and-after case studies, our presentations offer a basic overview of the benefits of living a life that's infused with motion.
Step 2: Workshops - This is the next step. Experiential, interactive, and a whole lot of fun, these workshops teach employees how to make movement a daily part of their lifestyles - and, how to translate knowledge into action.
Step 3: Consulting - This pulls it all together and offers dramatic results. Through on-site evaluations, targeted instruction and our signature Peer Coaching Program, we help you to bring about long-lasting and systemic change to get your company "in motion."
